Free Or Almost Free Prescription Drugs!

By JR Minor

In early 2019 thirty six drug manufacturers increased the cost of prescription medicine at an average of 6.7 percent, and some specialized drugs have increase as much as several hundred dollars! To make things worse the inflation rate in the U.S. for the past 12 months has risen over 2.2%, leaving Americans with less buying power than ever before! More and more Americans are finding themselves strapped over drug costs and pushing their credit to it’s limit!

What if you suddenly found out you could save a few bucks on your prescription drugs by shopping at certain stores! Well you can! Here are a few stores that offer Free, or Almost Free, prescription medications at little or no cost at all! Many have no restrictions either!

My Favorite!

One store I personally use is Publix. I went by my doctors office and got her to write me a hand written prescription for my diuretic medicine, and then took it to the pharmacy at Publix. The pharmacist took the prescription and said that it was on the free drug list. She asked me if I wanted her to fill it then. Naturally I said yes because I was testing to see if this free medicine was really true! I asked her if I needed to fill out anything – she replied no and asked me to wait a few minutes and she would have it ready for me! Wow – I was impressed!

I went back to the store 90 days later after receiving a text from Publix asking me to pick up my script. I told the pharmacist that I wanted to pay for the medicine and she replied emphatically No! – then asked me if I had had my flu shot ? I replied no that my doctor’s office had not received them as yet. She then said OK just fill out this form, and in the mean time, I will fill your prescription and then administer your flu shot!

I was so surprised that I just didn’t really believe this was happening! She came back in a few minutes and administered the shot and replied “You’re all set now until next year”. She handed me my medicine and a plastic card. “What’s this?” I replied. She said “Oh that’s our way of thanking you for shopping at Publix”. “It’s a $10.00 gift card and we give those to all of our customers receiving flu shots”!

Needless to say I’ve been a loyal customer of Publix since!
