There are literally billions of dollars in unclaimed cash just waiting for the owner to check in and claim the bounty! You may have cash sitting in a state treasury office somewhere just waiting to be claimed! Every state in the US, including the District of Columbia, has a State Treasury Website to connect the rightful owners with their unclaimed cash!

Is This For Real?

Unclaimed cash is money that is owed to the recipient from a past transaction where the payee supposedly could not find the owner and the money was turned over to the State. The State Treasurer’s Office has the responsibility to post this information so that the owner can find and claim their money. In many cases the money sits unclaimed for years because the State makes no effort to contact the recipient. The State posts his or her name on a website and the information sits there until someone stumbles across it. Eventually the State will no longer post the information and the money will be added to the State Treasury Fund.

Where Does It Come From?

In the Pan Handle of Florida alone, one person in four is owed money. The money can vary from less than fifty dollars to hundreds and thousands of dollars. The claims can be from lost stock, old retirements, insurance companies, wills, banks, or even some small rewards check from Best Buy.

Don’t Be Fooled!

Beware of many of the sites on the internet that claim to find you lost cash! Many of these sites will ask you for a fee or credit card to find your lost money. Most of these sites will let you search your name and suddenly find you money. To get the info you will have to pay a small fee or join a service to see if it belongs to you. One sure way to check the legitimacy of the claim is to type in known fictitious names like Super Man or Wonder Woman. Many times they will come back with $1500.00 for the hidden treasure on both names! I’m not saying that there is no one named Wonder Woman, or Super Man, but you get the idea!
